Each artist has to find his or her own way to cope with several difficulties: How can I make a living? Where do I find the right partners and projects? How can I keep going, when I feel frustrated and weak?
In this workshop we want to answer these questions. Therefore we will look at you as an artist (your abilities and goals) as a private person (what are your individual needs to feel motivated and strong?) as your own mentor (What do you have to do to place you on the German market?)

3 – 5 pm: Biographical theatre
Gudrun Herrbold / room 343
Instead of staging an existing theater play the biographical theater takes the adventures and experiences of the players as a starting point to develop the play. This form of theater allows collaborative work on current issues that are both personal and socio-political relevance. Different languages, nationalities and reality experiences of the participants here are encouraged.

Anna Volkland, Gast Anna Bergel / room 343
If you want to work as a theatre maker in Berlin you should know a little bit about the rich and diverse theatre landscape here. There are several big state-funded theatre institutions and many smaller places to watch (and produce) theatre and dance performances. The scene is quite international and refugees are welcome. At the same time there is really little money for theatre makers. We want to give you an overview: about theatre venues and their forms, topics and languages.

10 pm: talk with a dramaturg of the theatre, Prof. Dr. Mouhanad Khorchide (Centre for Islamic Theology, University of
